Hi everyone! I’m Sadia, the person behind the idea for this blog.
WHO AM I?
A 20-and-some year old Muslim aspiring scientist and writer who loves to experiment with cooking, baking and all things food.
WHAT IS THIS BLOG?
Being a proud Muslim, Islam has always been an important part of my life. I try to implement Islam in everything that I do whilst still being able to live life in the 21st century. My parents have always been sure to teach us Islamic knowledge since we were little. Unlike a lot of other Muslim children who were taught Quran in mosques, my siblings/cousins and I were all taught the Quran by my father at home. Something which my father still does to this day. My sister and I used to travel to attend weekly classes to learn about the Deen. Although my Islamic knowledge is extremely minute, this blog is a way of me being able to share my experiences of the Deen with everyone.
Writing has always been my passion of mine but it has always been a thing on the side. My main priority has always been my education, but when COVID-19 hit the world and I was locked inside, I decided to take my passion and create something with it. And from the lockdown, this blog was born…
On this blog, I combine my love for Islam with two of my favourite hobbies, writing and cooking.
Over the years I have dedicated a lot of my time and effort in baking and cooking for family and friends. This blog is my way transforming my recipes to give easy step-by-step instructions to help teach everyone how to create my delicious dishes and magnificent meals. Don’t get me wrong, my recipes don’t always go to plan and with siblings like mine, I will never be able to forget my food failures. Being of Pakistani heritage, a lot of my cooking style originates from there. One of the first dishes I ever learnt to make was a curry. I ended up burning it and my sister has made sure that I never ever forget that disaster. As I grew up, I began to experiment with a lot of different cultural foods and recipes from around the world, which I hope this website reflects. I became especially fond of baking and all of my siblings’ birthday’s involved me making a new version of some special cake that I wanted to try out.
