Masala Chips
This spicy masala chips recipe is made from simple spices and is ready in less than no time. Addictively good, these masala fries are so easy to make at home. Packed with flavour and spice, these spicy chips are the perfect comfort food and ideal for snacking on whilst watching TV after a busy day at work. This masala fries recipe takes your normal average plate of fries to a whole other level. Saucy and spicy, these masala fries work beautifully with BBQ dishes or even as a snack on their own! Make your own chips or fry up a batch of frozen fries. However, you choose to make these Pakistani chips are delicious! Slather on some plain yoghurt and garnish with finely chopped fresh coriander.
- For Chips:
- 400g Potatoes/Aloo
- For Masala:
- 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 Onion/Pyaz (finely diced)
- 2 Tomatoes (finely diced)
- 1 tsp Salt/Namak
- 1 tsp Chilli Powder/Laal Mirch Powder
- ½ tsp Coriander Powder/Dhaniyaa Powder
- ½ tsp Cumin Powder/Jeera Powder
- Coriander/Dhaniyaa (finely chopped)
Directions
- Peel the potatoes and cut into fries
- Fry the chips at 180°C/350°F for 6-8 minutes until browned
- In a pan heat up the vegetable oil
- Add the finely diced onions and cook on medium heat for 3-4 minutes until softened
- Add the finely diced tomatoes and cook for a further 4-5 minutes
- Add the salt, chilli powder, coriander powder and cumin powder
- Cook the spices for 6-8 minutes on medium heat
- Add the chips and mix to combine until the masala covers all of the chips
- Add the finely chopped coriander and cook for 1-2 minutes
- Your masala chips are ready!
